Where has time gone? It seems like just yesterday that we started calving and now here we are getting ready to start breeding. I have heard from many older people that it doesn’t get any better with age. We are getting ever so close to being finished with our fall calving and the calves on the ground are looking good. Every year we think that this set is better than the last and this year is no exception.
I hope that where ever you are that you have had a more balanced weather pattern than we have here. This has been without a doubt the driest year that I can ever remember. I hear many of my neighbors talking about hay prices and the sad fact of just not being able to find any at all. Thankfully we committed on our hay earlier in the spring, but then we had not figured on having to go into the winter with no grass in the pastures. The good news is that next spring when the grass comes back there will be a real demand for production females.
Along with breeding season being right on top of us, it is also time to get our donors started back up for flushing. In the last six months we have elected to take our program the next level by adding select cows from the breed’s most proven cow families. We are excited about the future and what this group of cows will do for the farm.
Please take a look at our sale page for a listing of our yearling and two-year-old bulls that we have available. All of the bulls have been semen tested and are fully guaranteed. We will be selling the bulls the same way that we have been the past couple of years:
- Privately off the farm
- Everyday is sale day
- First-come, first-served
If we can be of any assistance to you please contact us.
